Advanced Package – what to expect

• It is important that you have worked through the beginner’s and the improvers packages prior to choosing the package at this skill level
• The package contains many short videos that break down the dance steps and moves, so they are easy to follow
• Following the videos in order will enable you to build your dance skills in the right order
• Learning each element of the dance before moving onto the next one is key to you succeeding in learning
• Each video will have repeatable patterns for you to learn and practice
• Each video will have a simple structure for you to follow, learn and practice
• Working through the videos in order, will ensure you build a good understanding and feeling for the steps and the moves and how you use these to their best advantage with the music
• It will assist in building confidence when dancing the steps and learning and practising the moves
• It will provide guidance to help you build your skills and your competence in the dance and how your movements fit with the music
• You will be able to go back as many times as you want to, to ensure you have developed the skill required – this will be important and invaluable as you move on through the videos in the package
• There will be lots of focus on ensuring you have learned the steps and moves sufficiently enough, to enable you to adjust and adapt them in your dance
• There will be focus on ensuring you have developed your own style of dancing to Northern Soul music so that you can effectively use your dance skills and knowledge to move authentically to the music
• This package will like the other packages require a lot of practice and self-awareness of how you move to the music including when and where you do certain moves or steps
